Here is what’s happening this week that might be of interest to our Dodgen Families:-

Monday, March 24th - 28th - 8th Grade Party tickets will again be on sale from 8:30a.m. to 9:15a.m. in the 8th Grade pod.  You can also get a form from the Dodgen PTSA website www.dodgenptsa.org on the “Forms” page; place completed form and $15.00 cash or check in the white PTSA box outside the front office.  Please note that no tickets will be sold at the door the night of the event - reserve your tickets this week.

Monday, March 24th - 28th - Tickets for the Dodgen play will be on sale for $7.00 each in the 6th, 7th and 8th Grade pods each day from 8:30a.m. - 9:00a.m.  Don’t miss your chance to see this year’s fabulous production by our own Dodgen students.

Monday, March 24th - Parent Orientation at 7:00p.m. in Walton High School for parents of rising 9th Graders.

Monday, March 24th - Pope Junior Cheerleading Parent Information Meeting for parents of current 6th and 7th Graders interested in Pope Junior Cheerleading @ 6:00p.m. in the Pope Media Center.

Tuesday, March 25th - Dodgen MS hosts a reception for Eastern Cobb County Council (ECCC) PTA and welcomes the county winners of the ”Honoring Our Heroes” essay contest and their heroes.  We would like to congratulate the winners from Dodgen, Jake Wachtel - 7th Grade, his hero is Mr. Duda and Angela Cannarell - 6th Grade, her hero is her dad.

Wednesday, March 26th - Environmental Club will meet at 8:15a.m. in Mrs. Barkley’s classroom.  The project this month is to clean up debris/trash around the pond and place recycling bins in four locations in the school.

Wednesday, March 26th - “The Price of Technology on Youth” @ Peachford Hospital from 7:00p.m. - 8:30p.m.  Details on the Dodgen PTSA website.

Friday, March 28th & Saturday, March 29th - The long awaited performance of the Dodgen play “A Midsummer Night’s Dream or The Night They Missed the Forest for the Trees” @ 7:30p.m. each evening in the Dodgen Theatre.  Not to be missed!

Thursday, March 20th - Book Club meets in the Dodgen Media Center from 4:15p.m. - 5:15p.m.  Book selection is Prince Caspian by C.S Lewis.

Thursday, March 20th - Report Cards distributed.

Saturday, March 22nd - Middle School Night at NE Cobb YMCA @ 8:00p.m. - 11:00p.m. **This is a non- school sponsored event**

Monday, March 10th - The ABC’s of Student Interventions & IEP 101 from 7:00p.m. - 8:30p.m. @ Northstar Church, 3413 Blue Springs Road, Kennesaw, 30144.

Wednesday, March 12th - PTSA Board meeting @ 9:00a.m.

Friday, March 14th - End of Grading Period.  Awareness Club meeting @ 8:15a.m. in Room 435.

Friday, March 14th - 16th - Mount Bethel Elementary presents “Willy Wonka” @ Pope High School.

This week we would like to congratulate one of our students, George Fei - 7th Grade who is a PTA ”Reflections” winner for music composition at the PTA State level.  He will now go on to the PTA National level to be judged.  Congratulations George!

Congratulations also to Dodgen’s Science Olympiad Team, which placed first in last weekend’s regional competition.  Good luck to the team, which now advances to state competition at the end of March.

Saturday, March 1st - Dateline deadline.  All articles need to be submitted to newsletter@dodgenptsa.org 

Monday, March 3rd - The winners of Dodgen PTSA’s “Honoring Our Heroes” essay contest have their entries sent to ECCC (Eastern Cobb County Council) PTA to be judged;  the winners to be announced shortly.

Tuesday, March 4th - Student early dismissal @ 2:15p.m.

Wednesday, March 5th - PTSA Executive Board Meeting @ 9:00a.m.

Wednesday, March 5th - An informative/mandatory parent meeting is scheduled in Walton HS Commons @ 6:00p.m. for girls interested in attending Jr. Raider Cheerleading Clinic. Any questions contact Brenda Laskey at (770) 565 6900 or www.waltoncheerleading.com

Wednesday, March 5th - Our new “DODGEN EAT OUT NIGHT” location is Moe’s Southwest Grill on Johnson Ferry Road in the Parkaire Shopping Center.  Moe’s will donate 10% of your bill to Dodgen PTSA, on the first Wednesday of each month.  Simply write “Dodgen” on the back of your receipt and place it in the bowl near the register. 

 Friday, March 7th - The Awareness Club is having Breakfast Buddies @ 8:15a.m. with Mrs. Kemper and Mrs. Brezel’s classes.

Saturday, March 8th - Teen Job / Volunteer Fair; please see Dodgen PTSA’s website “Events” for more details.
